DENTAL ADVICE · SMILE BY DR NOURA
Before a smile makeover: health, choices and expectations
Bring your goals to the consultation, together with any questions about preserving your natural teeth and caring for the result.

Describe the change you want
Colour, shape and tooth position are different concerns. Explain what bothers you and what you like about your current smile. Photographs can start a discussion, but a treatment plan needs an examination.
Know what whitening can change
Whitening lightens natural teeth rather than fillings, crowns or implants. It is not suitable for everyone, and temporary sensitivity or gum irritation can happen. Discuss matching existing restorations before treatment.
Ask about the commitment
Veneers cover the front of teeth and may involve removing some tooth surface. Ask whether a less invasive option could address your concern, what maintenance is likely and what future replacement would involve.
Consider alignment carefully
If tooth position is part of the concern, an orthodontic opinion may be useful. Treatment has risks, including root changes and relapse, and requires a retention plan. Ask for an explanation that relates to your own teeth rather than a promised makeover timeline.
Questions to bring to your visit
- Which options preserve the most tooth structure?
- What are the limitations and risks?
- How will the result need to be maintained?
